NSW removalists who brought Delta variant to Victoria 'let off scot-free'

Victorian Shadow Police Minister David Southwick says the Andrews government has showed "absolute contradiction" by allowing three NSW removalists who "brought the virus" to the state to be let off "scot-free".

This comes following Victoria Police saying they will not be charging three COVID-infected removalists who brought the Delta variant to Victoria because 'there is no evidence of other offending'.

"We saw in Echuca a pub that received a $20,000 fine and the people that attended the pub cumulative of $100,000 fine – they didn't have COVID within 100kms of them," Mr Southwick told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

"They've all been fined and these characters have gotten away scot-free.

"You mention about the protesters on the weekend, and the absolute contradictions in this – we have the Premier and others coming out and saying 'let's dob in a protester'.

"And these people who ... actually brought COVID to Victoria have got away with, not even anything, a $200 fine to share between the three of them."
